Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 5 Launched: Xiaomi has expanded its performance-focused smartphone lineup with the release of the Redmi Turbo 5. The device arrives with powerful hardware, a bright AMOLED display, and a large silicon-carbon battery designed to deliver long-lasting performance. Positioned as a high-performance mid-range smartphone, the Redmi Turbo 5 combines modern design elements with flagship-level specifications.
The smartphone was officially released in January 2026 and is already available in select markets.
Design and build quality
The Redmi Turbo 5 comes with a refined design that combines durability with a premium feel. The phone measures 157.5 x 75.2 x 8.2 mm and weighs about 204 grams, giving it a balanced form factor for everyday use.
Its construction includes a glass front and an aluminum frame that adds rigidity to the device. Xiaomi has also equipped the phone with strong protection ratings. The handset carries both IP68 and IP69K certifications, which means it is protected against dust, high-pressure water jets, and water immersion up to 1.5 meters for a limited duration.
The phone supports dual Nano-SIM connectivity and follows the traditional bar-style smartphone design.
AMOLED display with high brightness
One of the highlights of the Redmi Turbo 5 is its 6.59-inch AMOLED display. The panel supports a resolution of 1268 x 2756 pixels, offering sharp visuals and a pixel density of around 460 pixels per inch.
The display supports up to 68 billion colors, which allows the screen to produce vibrant and accurate visuals. With a 120Hz refresh rate, the panel ensures smooth animations while scrolling through apps, browsing the web, or playing games.
Xiaomi has also included advanced display technologies such as Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HDR Vivid support. The screen can reach a peak brightness of up to 3500 nits, making it easier to view content even in bright outdoor environments.
Additionally, the panel uses 3840Hz PWM dimming, which helps reduce eye strain during extended usage in low brightness conditions.
Performance and hardware
At the core of the Redmi Turbo 5 is the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor. The chipset is built on a 4nm process and features an octa-core architecture designed to balance performance and power efficiency.
The CPU configuration includes a high-performance Cortex-A725 core clocked up to 3.4GHz, along with additional Cortex-A725 and efficiency cores. Graphics performance is handled by the Mali-G720 MC8 GPU, which is capable of handling demanding games and graphics-heavy applications.
The phone is available with up to 16GB of RAM and storage options of 256GB or 512GB. Xiaomi has used UFS 4.1 storage technology, which offers faster data transfer speeds and quicker application loading times.
The device runs on Android 16 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 interface, which introduces new customization options and system optimizations.
Camera system
The Redmi Turbo 5 features a dual rear camera setup designed to capture detailed images and videos. The primary camera uses a 50-megapixel sensor equipped with optical image stabilization to improve image stability and low-light performance.
Alongside the main sensor is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera that allows users to capture wider scenes such as landscapes or group photos.
For video recording, the rear cameras support 4K recording at up to 60 frames per second. The camera system also supports high-frame-rate Full HD recording modes.
On the front, the device includes a 20-megapixel camera designed for selfies and video calls.
Battery capacity and charging
Battery life is another key highlight of the Redmi Turbo 5. The device packs a large 7560mAh silicon-carbon battery, which is designed to deliver extended usage compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries.
The phone supports 100W wired fast charging, allowing the battery to recharge quickly when needed. In addition, reverse wired charging is supported, enabling the device to share power with compatible accessories or other smartphones.
Connectivity and additional features
The Redmi Turbo 5 includes a wide range of connectivity features. These include 5G network support, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and GPS. Xiaomi has also included an infrared sensor that allows the phone to function as a remote control for compatible appliances.
Audio is handled by stereo speakers that support Hi-Res audio playback for improved sound quality.
For security, the device features an optical fingerprint scanner placed under the display, along with additional sensors such as an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and compass.
